Pedro Valdez Cardoso

Pedro Valdez Cardoso (1974, Lisbon, Portugal) graduated in Performing Arts Direction by the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (ESTC). Advanced Course in Visual Arts at the Maumaus School of Visual Arts (Lisbon, PT). Pedro Valdez Cardoso exhibits regularly since 2001. His work, with a greater focus on sculpture and installation, focuses mainly on issues related to identity (social, sexual and cultural), in a constant relationship between poetics and politics. He is represented in several national and international collections, namely: Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Carmona e Costa Foundation, Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre, IVAM - Valencian Institute of Modern Art, DA2 Salamanca or Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Gas Natural Fenosa, Coruña.
