Pedro Calapez

Pedro Calapez (1953, Lisbon) began studies in civil engineering before transferring in 1976 to the School of Fine Arts of Lisbon. He later attended the Artistic Training Course at the National Society of Fine Arts. While a student at the Faculty of Fine Arts, he worked as a professional photographer, dedicating himself more intensely to painting starting in 1985. Between 1986 and 1998, he was a professor at Ar.Co. in Lisbon, where he was responsible for the departments of drawing and painting. He began participating in exhibitions in the 1970s, holding his first solo exhibition in 1982.
